Netball Club

St. Mary’s currently has two netball clubs for KS2 children. Year 3 and 4 meet to train on a Monday after school and Year 5 and 6 on a Thursday after school. The children are learning and developing their High Five netball skills, High Five being the precursor to seven aside netball at age eleven plus. High Five is played over four quarters of four minutes each, after each quarter the players rotate position. Teams can be made up of 7-9 players, including the positions of Time Keeper, Scorer and Centre Pass Marker. It is an excellent stepping stone to netball as it allows players to experience all positions within the game. Fixtures for both teams are due to be played later in the term against other North Devon school teams. Watch this space for match results!

Year 3 and 4 teams are coached by Mrs. Bunting and Mrs. Townshend.

Year 5 and 6 teams are coached by Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Pearce.
