Choir
Our school choir is a very active unit. The children are committed and work hard to sing some challenging works. During the Autumn Term they have worked on a variety of music ranging from Bob Dylan to Elton John and Richard Stilgoe to the modern classical choral composer Howard Goodall.
They have also practised hard to learn a variety of pieces for Christmas.
On 24th of November, the whole school held a service at St Mary's Church to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the King James' Authorised Version of The Bible. The sang The Lord is my Shepherd by Howard Goodall.
At the end of November the children performed at St Mary’s School’s first ever community lunch. Eighteen of our neighbours joined us to have a roast dinner prepared by the school kitchen and were entertained by the choir.
In December the choir then performed at Atlantic Village Shopping Centre,
Tesco – East-the Water and the North Devon Hospice’s Light Up a Life Service at St Mary’s Church.
They also visited Springfield Day Care Centre and Malborough Court to sing to our elderly neighbours.
