Spring Term.
The Drumming Club spent most of the spring term preparing to perform for our Comenius visitors. The children worked very hard, learning some old rhythms and creating some new ones of their own. Their efforts paid off and they put on a super performance on the day, well done!
The playlist was:
Big Black Dog – Megan and Elliott
Macaroni Cheese – Abbie and Chloe BB
Hand Claps – Becky and Steph
Red Indian – Ryan and Logan
Salt and Pepper – Caitlin and Abbie
During the summer term the children will be composing some new rhythms in preparation for the Summer Concert. We also hope to get together with another school drumming club in our local area.
Atlantic Village
On Thursday 26th November the Drumming Club joined the Choir for a Christmas performance, around the Christmas tree in Atlantic Village shopping centre, Bideford. Year 6 children led a selection of rhythms; the children all played superbly and had a wonderful time showing off their skills.
The playlist was as follows:
Ryan and Becky to start
To Catch a Butterfly – Abigail and Caitlin
Salt and Pepper – Megan and Shanna
Shay Shay Coolay – Megan and Abigail
Red Indians – Becky and Ryan
Ryan and Becky to finish.
The children have been learning new rhythms led by our Year 6 children and have worked on some compositions of their own. We are currently practising for a performance as part of a whole school Act of Worship and also for the Summer Concert.

Earlier this year the whole school were able to participate in a drumming workshop led by Drum Crazy.

The children and their families were also able to take part in a drumming workshop during our recent Music Open Evening.
