Attendance/ Absence Procedures

If your child is going to be late or absent from school, please can you telephone the school on 01237 477 288 and select option 1 to leave a message before 9am on each day of absence.  You will need to leave your name, the name of your child, the reason they will be absent and if known a date or time they are likely to be returning to school.

Sometimes it may be necessary to take your child for a medical appointment during the school day. We would appreciate such appointments being made after school or during holidays, but if this is not possible then please inform a member of the school office regarding the time of the appointment.

Please keep your child off school for forty eight hours after vomiting or diarrhoea as viruses spread rapidly through school environments.

If your child requires medication during school hours, please complete a form which can be collected from the school office.  All medication must be provided to the school office in its original packaging (which will indicate an expiry date and dosage), and be labelled with the child’s name and class.  If the medication has been prescribed by a doctor, the original label from the GP must be attached to the medication.
