SIAMS

SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) is the process used to evaluate how well a Church school lives out its Christian vision. At St Mary’s Church of England Primary, we welcome SIAMS as an opportunity to reflect on our strengths, strengthen our practice, and ensure our children experience a caring, values-led education rooted in the life of the Church.

Central to SIAMS is the impact of the school’s Christian vision on pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and behaviour. We focus on how our values are understood and lived out daily, supporting children to grow in confidence, respect, and responsibility. This includes the way we plan for learning across the curriculum, the support we provide for every child, and the relationships that help pupils thrive.

Collective Worship is a key part of our school life. Through regular daily worship, we create opportunities for children to reflect, pray, and learn about the Christian faith in an age-appropriate and meaningful way. Parents are valued as partners, and we aim to ensure that worship is inclusive, engaging, and firmly connected to the school’s vision, so that children develop spiritual understanding and a sense of belonging to our community.
